Questions doctors ask

Twelve questions, answered the way we would answer them in the room. Four of the answers are no.

Common

Will any of this get me into trouble with the Council?

That is the question the whole practice is built around. Every service we offer is tied to a specific clause that permits it, and each service page names the clause. The content we publish in your name sits under Regulation 7.11 of the 2002 Code, which expressly permits a doctor to write and broadcast on matters of public health under their own name. What we refuse to do is listed on every page. The honest answer is that we reduce your exposure rather than eliminate it, and that we are a marketing practice, not a law firm.

The one everyone asks

Can you guarantee me more patients?

No, and nobody can do it lawfully. The NMC guidelines issued on 6 October 2026 list digital mass solicitation among the serious violations, carrying six to twelve months' suspension of registration, and prohibit fees tied to procuring or referring patients. Any firm quoting you a number of walk-ins a month is quoting you a prohibited arrangement. The registration at risk in that arrangement is yours, not theirs.

Common

My hospital handles my marketing. Why would I need this?

Because the hospital's material is published in your name and the responsibility for it is partly yours. The guidelines report that publishing through an agency or platform does not absolve a doctor of responsibility. In practice the first thing our review turns up is usually a hospital page carrying your photograph promotionally, an outcome claim, or a patient testimonial. You cannot take those down yourself, but you can ask, and you need to know they are there.

Common

How is this different from what the Instagram agencies sell?

They sell leads, promised walk-ins and patient testimonials, priced on volume. Most of that became a registration risk on 6 October 2026. We sell a record, educational content in your name, peer-facing standing and a continuous compliance review, priced on a retainer with no element tied to patients procured. The clearest difference is that our first deliverable is usually a list of things to take down.

Common

What does it cost?

We quote after the review, because until we have read what is already published in your name we do not know whether the first month is a week of corrections or two months of removals. What moves the number: how many records disagree, how much old content needs rewriting, how many surfaces you appear on, and how many of the five services you want. We do not publish a rate card and we do not price on patient volume.

Common

How long before anything happens?

The review and the record are done inside the first month and you can see them immediately. Content starts publishing in month two. Search visibility is slower and depends on your site, not on us — and we will tell you at the review if your site cannot rank, rather than taking a retainer against it. Speaking and society positions run on their own calendar, which is usually annual.

Asked more than you would think

Can you get me an award, or a Padma?

No. Padma nominations run through the Government of India's own process and cannot be bought, brokered or accelerated by a marketing firm; anyone offering to is selling something they do not have. For paid awards and ranked listings, the guidelines require any award or ranking used in advertising to be independently verifiable, and bar platforms from offering paid ranking of doctors. What we do instead is pursue conference platforms, society roles, journal review and teaching appointments, which are earned in front of people who can assess them.

Common

Can you remove a bad review?

No, and we will not try. We also will not ask your patients for good ones — soliciting testimonials is prohibited and patient consent does not make it permissible. What we can do is make sure the factual record about you is correct and findable, so a reader has more than one source. If a review is defamatory rather than negative, that is a matter for a lawyer, not for us.

Fair question

Do you understand my specialty?

Not clinically, and we do not claim to. Manav Sadhwani has worked in healthcare marketing for thirteen years and the firm works only in healthcare, which means we know the regulation, the search behaviour and the referral pathway. The clinical content is always yours: you say it, we draft it, you correct it, and marketing copy written by a non-clinician is labelled as such.

Common

What if I do not like what you write?

You correct it, and the corrected version is what publishes. Nothing goes out in your name that you have not seen. If we disagree with a change on regulatory grounds we will tell you why and show you the clause, and if you still want to publish it we will decline to publish it for you rather than argue.

Common

Do I have to be on Instagram?

No. The most valuable work for most consultants is on channels you own — your own site, your own profile, long-form video — because that is where the regulation is clearest and where the content keeps working. LinkedIn matters if your referrals come from other doctors. Instagram matters for some specialties and not for others, and we will tell you which yours is rather than selling you all of them.

Worth asking

The rules changed three weeks ago. What happens when they change again?

They will. The 2023 NMC regulations are in abeyance, the 2002 Code still governs, and the guidelines of 6 October 2026 arrived with immediate effect and no transition period. That is exactly why the compliance review is an annual service rather than a one-off audit, and why every page we publish carries a review date. When something changes we re-check what is live in your name and tell you what now has to come down.

C.1The short version

Four things we will not do, whoever asks

  • We will not promise you patients. It is prohibited and the suspension would be yours.
  • We will not buy you an award, a ranking or a listing position.
  • We will not write or solicit a patient testimonial. Consent does not make it permissible.
  • We will not take a fee tied to leads, enquiries or walk-ins.

If one of those four is what you are looking for, there are firms in this market that will say yes. Read the penalty schedule first.

The review answers most of this for your practice specifically.

Two weeks, a written list of what is already published in your name, and an honest answer about whether marketing is your problem at all.
